[The video kicks on first to show a partially-rolled up and dirty white shirt. (Are those blood stains?!) The stomach below it has faint scarring in the shape of what could be a large circle, or maybe a semi-circle. At any rate, the video pans up after a few seconds over the shirt, hitting a wall of bright red hair at the shoulders. Dried blood long-since turned brown stained her chin and mouth. Then the full, filthy face of a very alive and pissed off Kushina Uzumaki.]

Is this some kind of a joke?! I woke up in a room that isn't mine with some woman claiming to be my mother who looks about my age shoving a bag of stuff in my hands. My husband is missing, my baby is missing, my chakra is missing. But that's not the best part, ya know! Some guy shoved this thing on me!

[She turns the video down toward a Vulpix that's staring up at her with innocent brown eyes. It lets out a happy cry and attempts to nuzzle up against Kushina's leg. But the video-- and Kushina-- move away from it quickly. When the video comes back up, her hair is flowing out at every angle around her quickly reddening face.]

If I ever find the guy who gave this to me again, I'm gonna kill him, y'know!! What a sick joke! So someone tell me how to get rid of this thing!

[Anyone else who might have been wandering around New Bark Town probably had the ~~honor~~ ~~misfortune~~ pleasure of spotting a particular redhead fuming over her starting partner. Or perhaps browsing one of the manuals Minato had forwarded to her over the Pokegear, occasionally nudging the Vulpix away with her foot, while she waited for him to arrive. Do you dare approach?]

[A couple of the names sound familiar. It's easy to note that she recognizes the mention of Tsunade, interest piqued at the mention of an Aburame, and her eyes widen a little to hear that little Sasuke is here. A fond smile appears when she hears he was a teammate of Naruto's. She had once expressed a wish to Mikoto that the two boys would be friends. Maybe working together had done that for them. Then another note of recognition at the mention of a Hyuuga too.]

I saw Sasuke once... he was just a little baby at the time though. He was so cute. But where did the people who vanished go?

The common theory is home but... that applies to dead people too. And people who weren't human. [his fingers drift somewhere off screen, and he sobers for a moment before the smile is suddenly blindingly back.]

But! That's the group of people here right now, and you said sensei is coming to get you right? Should I wait here with whoever isn't going then...?

Yeah, he is. [She forgot how much she missed that smile. It really was infectious since a smile finally appears on her face.]

It might be better if you do. I do want to see you, but it'll be faster this way, I think. I'll have Minato bring me back to the rest of you... wherever you are.

He better. It would be so very uncool if he decided to hide you somewhere. [He shook his head sharply.]

Don't be too shocked if Naruto follows him though, he's probably going to be too impatient to wait... and I'll only wait here since Rin's waiting here most likely or I'd be there anyway!

He's impatient, huh? [Another twitch in her smile. One of her traits that got passed on to him. Oops.] I'll try not to be shocked. And that's very gentlemanly of you to wait with Rin. I hope to see you both very soon.

[His smile faltered again, but he flashed her a peace sign as it revived.]

Don't you worry about it. I mean, I wouldn't risk leaving her alone after the last few weeks anyway. Even if I do really want to see you.

[Trying to stay calm. Please don't say Rin or anyone else got hurt.]

Just... a lot of people going home. That's all. [He was quick to reassure her, not wanting her to think the worst or anything.]

[He shook his head, looking determined now, and stared at her.]

No, it's fine, They might be back so... it's fine. Okay? You just worry about getting here. You'll be flying you know.

Yeah, I saw Minato's bird. [IT'S SO COOL]

I will, promise. And I might not see you until tomorrow or tomorrow night because of the travel time.

[Kushina is going to make him actually sleep because he looks so tired. 8|]

Nah nah, I understand. [He shook his head, leaning back on some orange pokemon behind him whose body was mostly hidden by the proximity.]

You'll get here as soon as you can, and not a moment sooner.

You bet I will! And I'm gonna-- what is that thing behind you?

Ah? [He blinked, then held the gear out with one arm, and snagged the head of his more than eight foot tall leaning post, a Dragonite, and pulled his head where she could see it.]

Right, Kushina-nee, this is Tobi, he's one of my dragons.

[Oh sweet ninja gods...]

Whoa! Where did you find that?! He fits in one of those little balls?

I raised him! [He's beaming, and immediately leaned up on the dragon to whistle before flipping the gear over to show her his Charizard who looked irritated at being whistled at, especially given the serperior that she was in the process of trying to wrestle off of her.

His voice could still be heard, and was amused.] The other orange there is Kiyohime, she was my first dragon, and the one harassing her is Mokuton, who isn't technically a dragon, even if she is huge. I have a couple others too, but they're not out here with me right now.

Looks like you did a good job raising them. They look strong.

[Even though she's just starting to learn about these Pokemon things, there's no denying the note of pride she has in Obito's training skills for his partners.]

[He flipped the camera back around to face him.] All of them are really smart and learn well. Kiyo there even is still learning how to talk. She's not interested in a lot of words but she's been improving.

Oh yeah, totally. She started learning when she was small enough to carry. I think just so she could tell me no when I tried to put her down, honestly. She's gotten less clingy now that she's bigger. Kinda.

"Kinda"? [The idea of that big dragon being clingy is... actually hilarious.]

Well she doesn't go in her ball unless she's dead exhausted and we're mid-flight or something, and she tends to crawl into my bed but it's not like she's attached to my shirt all the time anymore!

She looks too big to fit in a bed! [This gets full-on belly laughter.]
