Mom!

Itachi asked me if I wanna go watch his Gym battle in Goldenrod. I said before I wanted to go, plus I sorta want to talk to him about stuff. So is it okay?

Itachi? You mean Itachi Uchiha?

Yeah, of course! We don't know any other Itachi's do we?

I didn't even know he was here! I haven't seen him in so long... How is he?

Ehh?! You didn't?

He came back here a little while ago! I only knew because I bumped into him back when we were in Goldenrod.

[Casually ignoring the 'how is he' part for now, for reasons.]

He was there when we were?! [She looks a little frustrated with herself for not noticing. So a couple things go unnoticed for the moment.]

Yeah but I think he was- hiding or something. I dunno. But the point is, he's here now yeah? You should say hi!

I don't see why he would hide... But you're right! Now that I know he's here, I'll say hi and check in on him once in a while.

[Was she forgetting something? ...OH. Yes, there was one thing.]

--Ah! Right, you can go meet up with Itachi in Goldenrod. Just be careful, eat healthy, get plenty of rest... And come see me before you leave. Okay?

Nah, I was just taking some time on the beach and getting some training in.

[Primarily her water types, because what better place to let them loose but near an open ocean?]

I'll come out and find you then! I'm just outside the Pokemart!

Okay, I'll be waiting.

[And when he comes along, she'll be sitting with her feet buried in the sand watching Uzushio the Seadra and Ketsui the Gyarados out on the water working together on a Whirlpool attack. Uzushio couldn't seem to get it... having not been taught with the HM, so he falls back on Twister. But Kushina doesn't seem to mind. There's at least one whirlpool.]

[Once he spots her he jogs along the sand, slowing down once he gets close to her.]

Hey Mom!

[He carries on walking just a bit- enough to get beside the sea before releasing two of his Pokeballs. They contain his Tentacruel and Kamo the duck; he figured they would enjoy getting out in the water for a bit and once they scuttle off into the waves, he turns back to sit beside her.]

[She grins and waves when she hears him calling out to her. And once he's sat down next to her, she pulls her eyes from the sea and smiles at him.]

Hey Naruto. I just wanted to talk for a while before you go, y'know? I know we'll meet up again eventually, but I want to anyway. Being here has kinda been like being home for the first time in a very long time for me. And to be here with my family-- you and Minato-- has been great. I know I can give you a call or whatever, but I'm still gonna miss having you around.

I know. I'm gonna miss you guys too, but I'll only be gone for a bit! Just gonna hang out for a couple days there, then come back I guess? Or maybe we can meet some place else!

[Then he scoots a little bit closer, to throw arms around her neck and give her a hug.]

[It's sorely tempting to just say "let us come with you"!!! But her son isn't a little baby or a child. That boat had long-since sailed... For him, anyway. He's old enough to go off on his own and take care of himself. As he hugs her, she wraps her arms around his body to hold him tight.]

We can meet up again somewhere. Maybe it'll be back here or maybe it'll be another city. We'll definitely be together again.

Mmhmm! Anyway, it means you and Dad can have some time on your own for a bit while I'm there. Then you have time to miss me before I get back! Hehe.

It has been a while since it was just the two of us... But even so, don't think I won't miss you anyway. You're my son and I've really enjoyed getting to know you since I got here.

Aww, Mom. You're gonna make me all embarrassed y'know!

What's to be embarrassed about? It's just us here, you dummy. [If it was the kind of thing she did, this would totally be a noogie moment. Instead she's letting go with one arm to give him a gentle punch.]

Our pokemon are watching though!

[His are at least, the Tentacruel half-submerged in the sea and just watching like the total creeper that he is.]

[She looks over at their Pokemon and sure enough... Uzushio seems to have stopped to creep closer to shore and watch too.]

So? Let them! If you think about it, they're kinda part of the family too.

Yeah but still, it's weird. They really creep me out sometimes y'know?

Well... I guess I've got a few that do that. But they can always be straightened out later.

[Kesshō, Chiratsuki, and Sarutobi were the current offenders. But there's nothing violence can't solve ~~when there are no witnesses~~, right?

Aaaaaand unfortunately for Naruto, she only lets go with one hand to raise a fist toward the sea and yell at her Seadra.]

UZUSHIO! Would you get back to trying whirlpool already?! [Her fist comes down with the volume as Uzushio quickly goes to mind his own business by attempting the futile.] See? Simple as that.

[Jesus Christ she can be loud. He ends up leaning back a bit because Woooooow]

[Aren't you gonna miss that? She notices him leaned back ~~doing the rockaway??~~ and seems a little confused until she realizes she had been yelling right in his ear. Oops.]

Ah! Naruto! I'm so sorry!

Too loud! TOO LOUD!

[He.. yells.]

[Ow... And she retaliates the best way she knows how: aiming a quick fist to the head. And more yelling... ~~sob...~~]

YOU'RE TOO LOUD!

THAT HURT!!

[MOM WHY YOU GOTTA BE LIKE THIS]

THEN QUIT YOUR YELLING!

[THAT'S LIKE ASKING WHY PEOPLE BREATHE]

I WASN"T YELLING ON PURPOSE!

[Who needs volume control anyway?

And it's also time to realize that she's still right next to his ear... Oops. A few seconds as she goes right from about to yell again to absolutely sheepish laughter. #uzumakilife]

Oh look, it's back to hug time.]

I gotta get going in a minute, okay?

[She might've just clung a little tighter.]

[Baww Mom 8( have a tighter hug]

Alright. [She pulls back, but moves her hands to his shoulders.]

Take care of yourself, be safe, and call me once in a while or something, y'know. I'll worry a little less.

[...Nope, one more quick hug. And a quick kiss pressed to his forehead.]

[Once she lets go and kisses him he gets up, brushing sand off of himself.]

I'll call you when I get to Olivine, alright? I promise!

[Once he's up, she gets back on her feet and nods at his words.]

Thank you. And I love you, y'know.

I love you too! But I gotta go now, okay Mom?

[Time to go grab his stuff and head off! He calls his Pokemon back in their balls.]

Okay, you get going then. I'll be waiting for your call!

[Ugh she's gonna miss her baby so much. It's taking a lot of restraint on her end not to bowl him over with one last hug.]

Yeah yeah, I got it!

[And off he goes. See you in a couple weeks Mom!]
