Kushina's first Pokemon on arrival. Their relationship started off with Vulpix only wanting her love and acceptance and Kushina... not wanting anything to do with it. At all. This was completely related to her once being the host for Kyuubi, the Nine-Tailed Fox, back home. She didn't really get along with him at all, given that one of her own ninjutsu was a set of chakra chains that were able to bind and restrain him. Their original partnership was pretty unwilling on Kushina's part too, since she didn't know what the hell was going on until it was about to happen. As a result, a lot of revulsion that she bore toward the Kyuubi ended up getting transferred to Vulpix.

More out of habit than anything, she started calling him Kyuubi, so the nickname stuck. He refuses to answer to anything else now. After a couple days in Johto, she had a little heart-to-heart with him about why she reacted as she did on day one, re: her past. After that, they had a weird understanding and she acts like she doesn't care when others are around, but if she thinks she's alone, she doesn't object to him crawling up on her lap for food or whatever. Maybe in time she'll trust him completely, but not yet.

For now, Kyuubi has elected himself as chief egg warmer (starting with Menma and Watage's eggs, even if he doesn't have the right ability lmfao). He also has a habit of letting himself out of his Pokeball and following Kushina around. If she starts yelling at someone, he takes a fighting stance right behind her, all of his tails fanned out.

On her arrival, Kushina met a girl named Yumi who had somehow known her before. Even more surprising, one of the Pokemon she had apparently had the last time was in her possession. So on the morning of Sasuke's birthday party, Yumi left Chomper in Kushina's care, much to the giant Feraligatr's delight... even if Kushina has no memory of him. He really seems to like the hot springs in Blackthorn and prefers using physical moves, such as Bite, Crunch, Slash, and Chip Away on his opponents. So help everyone if Kushina gets her hands on some TMs...

Another Pokemon she apparently had that she doesn't remember. This big, fluffy girl came into her life from Shino on Hangover Day after Sasuke's party. So she may not have seemed as grateful as she could have been... Oops. It was also same day the fossilized Pokemon appeared too, so she was put right to work. Seishin's a lot more chill than the others and loves naps in the sun and belly rubs from anyone willing, but when she gets going, she gets going. She's is one hell of a speed demon in battle and has more energy than Kushina knows what to do with. So she's set Seishin to training Kyuubi here and there since they're both fire types. And hey, looks like they became fast friends.

Kushina's very first capture! She had gone down to the hot springs to see if any Pokemon needed chasing out of there. Lo and behold, she found a lone Lileep poking out of the steaming water. It didn't seem too keen on battling until she sent Chomper splashing in after it. After a short battle, Kushina caught her and settled on a ramen ingredient among many she likes for the Lileep's nickname because of her purple coloring and floral appearance.

When all the prehistoric Pokemon were returned to their fossilized forms on 7/29, to say Kushina was disappointed would have been an understatement... not that she'd let on. But at least a spark of hope came in the form of hearing she'd have her Pokemon back on 8/5 courtesy of some gym leader named Brock. She's made a mental note to thank him if she ever meets him in person and to use Umeboshi in her battle with him.

It would be more accurate to say that Oriro found Kushina first. He "attacked" when he spotted her bright red hair and immediately divebombed her to start chewing on it. Needless to say, Kushina was far from amused. After managing to send out Umeboshi while Chomper was already engaged in battle and some help from Minato and his team (an incident we shall never talk about), she was eventually freed and caught the flying stone menace. Now that Oriro's revived from his fossilized state, she intends to teach him how to behave properly, but for now... he tries perching on her head or shoulders. He's seen other flying types do it!!! But because he's a lot bigger and made of rocks (sort of), he only succeeds in toppling her over until she starts screaming at him to get off.

With Blackthorn not under attack by a swarm of ancient Pokemon or birthday parties going on, there was actually time to meet more of the team she had apparently left behind. Among the ones that had been left in Minato's care was Luxray. A fully-evolved electric beastie that Kushina took a shine to right off the bat. Just one look into her eyes and she knew this one carried her will.

Number two and the strongest of the group of four Minato put (back) in Kushina's care. One of the things Kushina found most interesting was the Everstone she holds. While she is curious to see what Kame will turn into if she were to evolve, she respects her teammate's wish to stay as she is. Now that Kame's at level 100, she's permanently a Wartortle, but that's okay.

The fourth and final Pokémon Minato returned to her care. Even though he's at level 40, Kushina may end up spoiling him rotten. He's tiny and adorable and Kushina won't keep him in a PokéBall if she can help it. Pretty much a lot of the babying that would've gone to Naruto (were he younger than a teenager) is going to end up headed in his direction. For now he's earned himself a permanent slot in her team since she can't bring herself to box him either. Even if she's mad at him for posting things to the network, just one look into those brown eyes and any anger just kinda... melts away. The night after the fighting tournament he evolved into Togetic. ;u;

Even though he's a Togekiss now, Ryuutarou still tries to sit on Kushina's lap. But as he's almost as large as her now and... not exactly light. So she puts up with him landing on her head or shoulders where he just barely fits. If she's sitting, it's not that bad. If she's standing, his full weight can take her by surprise if she's not expecting him to drop his full 80+ pounds on her, but she can carry him around for a little bit.

Not long after her arrival, she caught wind of the Breeding Center and its free eggs for new arrivals program. After some details were set straight, a Mareep egg was deposited right into her PC. Granted, she was a little disappointed it wasn't hatched yet, but at least with this baby, she didn't have to carry it with her for ten months (or so she hoped) and worry about some masked asshole ruining her life again. She didn't hatch until nearly midnight, when Kushina was about to sleep as she started her first job since arriving that morning. As one of her babies, Watage ends up getting spoiled a little. Treatment that's spread between her, Ryuutarou, and Menma. Funnily enough, it doesn't seem to have done much harm as she maintains a serious attitude, especially where training is concerned. Kushina will end up enlisting the help of Minato's team for training since he has a bunch of electric types. For a Pokemon with a naturally bad speed stat, this will work wonders, especially as she knows Agility from her Egg Moves.

Mama's little murderbaby. No, but seriously... as the first egg she ever paid for, she is absolutely thrilled with the move set this one was born with. Even though it had been a week, a lot of things happened that she forgot why she picked this one in particular. And then... she remembered. So going back to her ramen naming theme... Menma it was. Unlike her son, she actually likes menma hahahaha. As Ralts are noted to be very sensitive to emotions and Psychic types having a mental link thing going on with their trainers, Menma is literally nowhere to be found within a few seconds of Kushina's temper exploding. He only reappears after her temper subsides. Beyond those moments, he can usually be found somewhere nearby, usually as a funny-looking hat or watching Kushina quietly. As one of her first two eggs, Kushina takes to babying him a little, as she does with Ryuutarou and Watage.

Out of all the Pokemon she saw in Blackthorn, she never thought she'd see one that looked like a snow-covered tree. Especially not in the middle of summer. Hell, she really hadn't seen much snow growing up in Konoha. (Land of Fire implies a much warmer climate than what the Land of Water has to the north...) But when Aoki summoned a hailstorm at the start of their battle to capture, that sealed Kushina's desire to catch her. Luckily with a fire-heavy team, it was a very short match. After some study of her weaknesses though, she put Aoki away for the time being since she was training to go against a flying-type gym. And despite the ice moves, her grass-side still carries the typical weakness to flying moves. Soon... Aoki will have her day and shine like the murdertree she is.

Found on a day off among... other eggs while Naruto was comatose. Something that surprised her initially was that he (and his Buneary siblings) had already hatched. She had heard people sold or gave away eggs before they hatched. Okay, no big deal. Less waiting for her. At first glance Takashi seems like some bog-standard Buneary, but this is not so. Yes he's a bit timid and as quick to flee when Kushina's temper explodes as Menma is. But when she sends him out for a battle, there's a new look in his eye. It's the look that says "I'm gonna rip out your intestines and play jump rope with them." This was actually discovered on day one, when a pillow fell off Naruto's bed, made Takashi jump and, moments later, destroy said pillow with Iron Tail. This development pleased her immensely and will lead to a beautiful friendship. Especially when she runs into more move tutors on the road and eventually reaches Goldenrod for more TMs. Start girding your loins Johto and Kanto. Murderbunny is coming.

Takashi will evolve via friendship by late October/early November.

Unlike half of Kushina's complete roster, Junko is actually 99% obedient. That one percent kicks in with really sudden, loud noises. Thunder. Doors slamming. Kushina screaming. Stuff like that. Something about them terrifies her and she bolts off to who knows where. But whether it takes a few minutes or until the end of the day, Junko always comes back.

Out of all the Pokemon Kushina has, Biwako has turned out to be the one that gets into the most trouble. So far... As soon as she was born, she jumped out of Kushina's arms, sniffed around to explore the immediate area, then jumped up and bit Minato in the butt... Oops. And that was just the beginning. For the flight over the Ice Path, she refused to get back in her PokeBall and then attempted to pick fights with every wild Pokemon she saw on Route 44 on the way into Mahogany. Thankfully Seishin and Kyuubi dragged her away before anything could get ugly. She knew Biwako would have some attitude, she just wasn't expecting this much when she named her in honor of Sandaime's wife. Time to pray she doesn't arrive and find out...

-followed her around since entering causing Kyuubi to growl at him until he backed into the shadows
-turns out he just wanted to challenge her team to a friendly spar
-she used Watage until he nearly fainted, so she stepped in to fight him herself
-she won... and then caught him, because hey, the little guy sure put up a fight
-he seemed to prefer using his feet over his hands, so... when he did evolve, he upgraded to some very stretchy legs
-he's now one of her primary sparring partners for bonus training sessions just in case something happens again, like with the fossil event or the nightmare castle

Named Kage for two reasons: 1. His egg was given to her by her husband, one of the Hokage. 2. He follows her around and has taken Ryuutarou's place on her lap after he became a Togekiss. The former lap occupant isn't too thrilled with this development. She intended to make him a Flareon with the Fire Stone in her bag, but her mun fate placed it in Kyuubi's paws. Or mouth, rather. Shortly after, he evolved into Umbreon.
